Obituary of Douglas Norred

Funeral Services for Douglas Norred, age 84, of Fayetteville , Georgia, will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 12:00 PM from Lebanon Christian Church, 2100 Co. Rd. 79, Roamoke, with Rev. Roger Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM-12:00 PM at Lebanon Christian Church. Mr. Norred passed away Monday, August 25, 2014, at Fayette-Piedmont Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia. Survivors include: three daughters, Glenda Lowenthal, Denise Stambaugh, and Deanna Dempsey; two sons, Greg Norred and Kevin Norred; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Vinson and Avonelle Kirby; and one brother, Arthur Norred. A Randolph County native, Mr. Norred was born on October 28, 1929, the son of Marvin and Iris Breed Norred. He was a member of Lebanon Christian Church and was a state circulation manager for the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Mr. Norred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jane Norred; one brother, Marvin Norred, Jr.; and one sister, Marvilene Morgan.
