Obituary of Lucille Ruby Morton

Funeral services for Lucille R. Morton, 86, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Emery and Rev. S.T. Janney officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 5, 2014. Mrs. Morton died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Traylor Retirement Center. Survivors include one son, LaDon Morton (wife, Brenda) of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Ladona Morton, Lacretia Nunez, and Lanessa Rollins; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Brown of Costa Rica (husband, Milton) and Frances Cummings (husband, Buddy) of Wedowee; one brother, Herbert Richardson (wife, Jo) of Roanoke; one sister-in-law, Ann Richardson of Roanoke. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Morton was born February 11, 1928, daughter of Chink and Ura Miles Richardson. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had been employed with Wehadkee Yarn Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Morton; and one brother, Clyde Richardson.
