Obituary of Carolyn Weathers

Funeral services for Carolyn Marie Weathers, age 71, of Heflin, will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rayford Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, October 3, 2014. Mrs. Weathers died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice. Survivors include one daughter, Cecila Harris of Monroe, Georgia; one son, Richard Edmondson (wife, Rebecca) of Newell; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Phillip Waits of Morrison Crossroads, Maxie Waits of Mikeville, Tony Waits, and Perry Waits both of Monroe, Georgia. A Cleburne County native, Mrs. Weathers was born on September 23, 1943, the daughter of Curtis and Winnie Mae Durrough Waits. She was a member of the Pinetucky Methodist Church and had been employed with Handley Mills. Mrs. Weathers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Jasper Edmondson; and one daughter, Shelia Denise.
