OBITUARY

Funeral services for Miss Marsha Meschell Bowen, of Roanoke, age 55, will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 2:00 pm from the Potash Church of God with Rev. Vernon Willis and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Mrs. Bowen will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

Miss Bowen died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Columbus Specialty Hospital.

Survivors include one sister, Linda Sims of Roanoke; two nieces, Brandy (husband Calvin) New, Amy (husband Shawn) Morman; two nephews, Richie (wife Josie) Sims, Daniel Sims & Hollie Jeter; uncle, Pernell (wife Helen) McDaniel; host of great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cody Nelson, Chance Morman, Robert Benefield, Shan Nelson, Kevin Watson and Mike Sheppard.

Miss Bowen was born October 8, 1954, the daughter of C. J. and Arene McDaniel Bowen. She was a member of Potash Church of God and had worked for Handley Mills & Candlewick Yarns. Miss Bowen was preceded in death by her parents.
