Obituary of Jimmy Roger Thomas

Funeral services for Rev. Jimmy Roger Thomas, age 70, of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor and Rev. Tim Whaley officiating and remarks by Charles Jones and Ronnie Smith. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Rev. Thomas passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home. Pallbearers will be John Thomas, Tim Fincher, Phillip Murphy, Kevin Jones, Billy Jones, and Jeremy Cummings. Survivors include his wife, Linda Fincher Thomas; three daughters, Melinda McClendon (significant other, Mike) of Davenport FL, Alison White (husband, Michael) of Wedowee, and Denise White (husband, Daniel) of Wedowee; one son, Daryl Thomas of Wadley; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Susan Dawkins (husband, Curtis) of Alexander City; two brothers, Jerry Thomas of Alexander City and Calvin Thomas (wife, Glenda) of Alexander City; several nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-laws. A Randolph County native, Rev. Thomas was born November 20, 1944, the son of Hugh and Sue Thomas Jr. He was the founder and minister of God's Anointing Full Gospel Church. Along with his wife, he began Roger's Gospel Music Barn. Rev. Thomas also worked in quality control for Industrial Construction and is a longtime member of the American Welding Society. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Randall.
