Funeral services for Sybil Daniel Kitchens, age 86, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Teague and Rev. Tim Steffey officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2014.
Mrs. Kitchens passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Traylor's Nursing Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Windsor (husband, Freddy) of Roanoke and Alice Faye Berry (husband, Jack) of Lake City, FL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kitchens' grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Kitchens was born on October 15, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Alma Henson Daniel. She was a member of First Church of God Roanoke and a weaver at the Handley Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harris Fred Kitchens; one brother, Jimmy Daniel; and one sister, Mildred Brown.
