Obituary of Willie Pearl Stephens

Funeral services for Willie Pearl Stephens, age 94, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Richard Laird and Rev. Ben Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, January 1, 2015. Mrs. Stephens passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Traylor's Nursing Center. Survivors include: two sisters, Ruth Holliday of Roanoke and Ruby Dommisse of LaGrange, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Norred, Jay Scurlock, Ben Blackstone, Tyler Blackstone, Robert Moody, and Ryan Moody. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Stephens was born on May 11, 1920, the daughter of William Thomas and Pearl Jane Fincher Holliday. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke and was a retired inspector from Palm Beach. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin Harold Stephens; two sisters, Virginia Penn and Katherine Hobby; and three brothers, Horace Holliday, Samuel Holliday, and Howard Holliday. Memorials may be floral or contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Roanoke.
