Obituary of Billy Ray Mapp

Funeral services for Billy Ray Mapp, age 69, of Lanett, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Derek Farr, Rev. Sonny Harris, and Rev. Shannon Mapp officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-8:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2015. Mr. Mapp passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn. Survivors include: his wife, Ann Mapp of Lanett; three daughters, Teresa Gail Hill of Hogansville, GA, Marsha Lynn Yarbrough of Roanoke, and Alicia Carol Moon of Auburn; two sons, Shannon Ray Mapp and David Noah Mapp of Roanoke; two stepsons, Thomas Morgan Spradlin and Joseph Leon Spradlin of Lanett; twenty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Letha Howard and Marie Gray of Roanoke; one brother, Jerry Mapp of Wadley. Pallbearers will be Coty Yarbrough, Chase Ramsey, Adam Ramsey, Aaron Ramsey, Austin Ramsey, Bryant Mapp, and Dylan Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Jones, Maxie Norred, Bobby Hodges, and Jerry Parmer. A Randolph County native, Mr. Mapp was born on March 2, 1945, the son of Emory Austin and Rose Lee Mapp. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church and was self-employed in the logging business. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
