Obituary of Allyne Elizabeth Landers

Funeral services for Allyne Elizabeth Landers of Lake Martin/Alexander City and formerly of Roanoke, will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Roanoke. The Reverends Ralph Barrow and John Mann will officiate. Mrs. Landers died on January 12, 2015. She was 93 years old. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 AM, and the service for Mrs. Landers will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Landers is survived by two sons, Jim (Jan) of Alexander City and Bob (Fran) of Bonita Springs, Florida; three grandchildren, Dianne Landers Waites (Jeff), Chris Landers (Amy), and Michelle Landers Cooper (Tony); three step-grandchildren, Jason Smith, Stuart Smith (Heather), and Michael Smith (Tabatha); thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Landers, Jeff Waites, Tony Cooper, Sawyer Landers, Myles Landers, Wesley Waites, Jason Smith, Michael Smith, and Stuart Smith. Honorary pallbearers are all her friends in the Roanoke community. Mrs. Landers had many vocations including wife, mother, salesperson, and secretary. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church where she served in various capacities. Mrs. Landers was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary with sixty-seven years of continuous service. Mrs. Landers was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Alva Huey; a sister, Mary Jo Huey Cope; a grandson, James R. Landers, III; and her husband, James Raymond Landers, Sr. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Organ and Stained Glass Fund at P.O. Box 40, Roanoke, AL 36274.
