OBITUARY
Graveside services for Mr. Jimmy "Jim" Vaxter Hester, of Roanoke, age 69, will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 4:00 pm from the Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Joe Fetner officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
Mr. Hester died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Ashville Nursing Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Williams of Roanoke; two sisters, Blanch Williamson of Morrison Crossroads, Mavis Rollins of Roanoke; two brothers, Horace "Bob" Hester of Opelika, Bill Hester of LaGrange, GA; two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Hester, Bill Hester, Danny Hester, Mike Sheppard, Mike Fisher and Wayne Williamson.
Mr. Hester was born February 28, 1941, the son of Horace and Irene Gustie Brown Hester. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked in the Dye Room for Handley Mills. Mr. Hester was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Sam and Larry Hester.
