OBITUARY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Lane Melton, of Opelika, age 68, will be held Friday, April 9, 2010, at 11:00 am at Lanes Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Patricia Sims officiating. Mrs. Melton will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial to follow in adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 8, 2010.
Mrs. Melton died Tuesday, April 5, 2010 at Arbor Springs Rehab and Health.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Melton of Opelika; her mother, Katherine Lane of Opelika; two sisters, Eileen (husband Willard) Watts of Roanoke, Bobbie Jean (husband William) Brown of Opelika; brother in law, Billy (wife Norma) Melton, Danny (wife Terrie) Melton; one sister-in-law, Shirley Hawkins; six nieces, Leticia Denham, Charleen Thomas, Gail Smith, Kim Bledsoe, O'Day Wilson and Margaret Davidson; and four nephews, Allen Brown, Darren Brown, James Watts and J. W. Watts.
Pallbearers will be Drew Brown, Rocky Smith, Steven Nolen, Kyle Brown, Kelton Brown, Kenneth Brown, and Christopher Terry.
Mrs. Melton was born September 8, 1941, the daughter of Willie Frank and Katherine Sims Lane. She was a member of Lanes Chapel Methodist Church and had been a caregiver/nurses assistant for Randolph County Hospital and West Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her father. Flowers will be accepted or donations to your choice of charities.
