OBITUARY

Funeral services for Hazel Holloway Burke, age 78, of Roanoke, will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richie Farrow, Rev. Gary Baugh and Larry Keel officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 20th.

Pallbearers will be Mike Burke, Billy Burke, Larry Holloway, Chris Holloway, Matthew Brown and Richard Tidwell.

Mrs. Burke died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Hospice LaGrange.

Survivors include two daughters, Nellie Maulsby (Curtis) of Madison and Freddie Barboza (Jeff) of Wallingford, Connecticut; one son, Travis Burke (Cecilia) of Long Beach, Mississippi; two sisters, Linda Bryant of Roanoke and Dina Ramsey of Cordele, GA; two brothers, Lawrence Holloway of Wedowee and Pete Holloway of Roanoke; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A Randolph County native and lifelong resident, Mrs. Burke was born May 27, 1931, daughter of McKinley and Eula Young Holloway. She resided in Wedowee moving to Roanoke in 1987. She was a member of High Pine Baptist Church and had been an LPN with Traylor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Manley Burke.
