Jose Cruz Pioquinto, age 40, of Roanoke passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 7:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel and on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 7:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel. 

Survivors of Mr. Cruz Pioquinto include his wife, Juana Medina Esquivel; two sons, Christopher Cruz Medina and Jose William Cruz Medina; his parents, Francisco Cruz Nolvarto and Antonia Pioquinto Alvia; six sisters, M. del Rosario Cruz Pioquinto, Silvia Cruz Pioquinto, Elvira Cruz Pioquinto, Rossi Cruz Pioquinto, Felicitas Cruz Pioquinto, and Lucina Cruz Pioquinto; and five brothers, Jacinto Cruz Pioquinto, Ricardo Cruz Pioquinto, Nicolas Cruz Pioquinto, Jesus Cruz Pioquinto, and Osvaldo Cruz Pioquinto.

A Guerrero, Mexico native, Mr. Cruz Pioquinto was born on May 1, 1977, the son of Francisco Cruz Nolvarto and Antonia Pioquinto Alvia.  He was Catholic by faith and worked in construction.
