OBITUARY Funeral services for, Mr. Gerson Joseph Bonner, age 68, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 27, 2011, from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harold Bonner, Rev. Marvin Luttrell and Rev. Richard Richie officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Thursday, May 26th. Mr. Bonner died May 25, 2011 at Wedowee Hospital. Mr. Bonner is survived by his wife, Yvette "Lucy" George Bonner of Roanoke; one daughter, Karen (husband Ronald) White of Alabaster; two grandchildren, Megan and Ryan White of Alabaster. Pallbearers will be Whit Bonner, Jerry Bonner, Lamar Bonner, Allen Ramsey, James Vineyard, Russ Vineyard, Tommy Mitchum and Herbert Denham. Honorary pallbearers will be New Beginnings Sunday Class and the deacons of Trinity Baptist Church past and present. Mr. Bonner was born, November 26, 1942, the son of Joe and Lurlene Vineyard Bonner. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had worked at Quattlebaum Funeral Home as a Funeral Director for 22 years. Mr. Bonner was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Pearl Bonner, Virginia Jackson, Bessie Maude Bonner; three brothers, Leonard Bonner, Jim Bonner, Aubrey Bonner.
