Laran Lee Potts Obituary

Laran Lee Potts, age 67, of Dickert, passed away at his residence in Wadley on Monday, September 4, 2023.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Living Waters Main Street Bible Church.


Survivors include: his sister, Becky Potts, of Roanoke; one aunt, Charlotte Potts; and three nephews, Ben Towler, Cody Towler, and Lee Butler; and several cousins.


Mr. Potts was born in Randolph County on January 12, 1956, the son of Hubert Lee and Mary Jeanette Owens Potts. He was a 1974 graduate of Handley High School and enjoyed his time as the quarterback, # 14 , of the Handley Tigers. Mr. Potts was self-employed as a carpenter and brick, block, and stone mason. Mr. Potts was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan and always loved watching his NASCAR races. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kim Towler.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
