Obituary of Richard Jones

Funeral services for Charles Richard Jones, Jr., age 42, of Wadley, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (3085 County Road 26, Roanoke, AL 36274) with Rev. Wade Price officiating. Mr. Jones will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Phelix Johnson, Tracy Crenshaw, Joseph Pike, Terry Pike, David Harmon, Darryl Harmon, Jerry Windsor, and Steve Brasington. Mr. Jones died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Columbus Medical Center. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Mary Brasington Jones of Wadley; one daughter, Meagan Jones of Wadley; one son, Charles Richard "CJ" Jones, III, of Wadley; his mother, Sara Jones of Wadley; one brother, Timothy Brandon Jones and his wife, Brandy Jones of Roanoke; one niece, Kylie Jones of Roanoke; uncle, Jimmy Jones of Wadley; several cousins, friends, and family. Mr. Jones was born July 27, 1970, son of Charles Richard Jones, Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Nolen Jones. He was employed as a butcher and the manager of the meat department at Piggly Wiggly and attended Mt. Zion Christian Church. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father. The family will accept flowers or donations to Bank of Wedowee, Roanoke Branch, or SunTrust Bank.
